Rob Allen CEng MIET

Robert is an accomplished entrepreneur and business leader with a 30+ year track record of delivering change within the banking, commercial, government and military sectors. A chartered engineer and former army officer, he has an excellent knowledge of the financial sector, payments systems and emerging technology, having led strategic programmes for some of Europe’s largest banks with personal responsibility for over $500m of change delivery.

Transitioning to the fintech ecosystem, Robert led the PwC Fintech Practice in Australia, and was Entrepreneur in Residence at eftpos Australia building an interoperable national infrastructure for digital identity called connectID. Rob founded nodl.io, a fintech consultancy and technology infrastructure business focusing on blockchain-based projects aligned with the UN’s sustainable development goals, has numerous director roles having served on the Board of the Australian Payments Council (APC), was Deputy Chairman of Blockchain Australia, and is a non-executive director of several startups.

Rob co-authored “Fintech Revolution: Universal inclusion in the new financial ecosystem” and several papers on blockchain published by the UN Environment Program (UNEP).

An avid diver and shark photographer, Rob has been actively involved in nature conservation for over 20 years and doesn’t plan to retire until he has saved the world!
