Secret Manager — Local

Adds an on-your-machine backend to the Secrets extension, so your API keys and tokens are stored locally and encrypted by your OS keychain. Install it when you want to keep credentials on this computer rather than in an external service.

What you can do

• Store secrets locally, encrypted at rest by your operating system's keychain — no plaintext file is written, and values survive restarts.
• Add a secret through the Secrets sidebar's + → Add secret (Local).
• Let your other extensions read those secrets when they need them.

Requirements

• Desktop app.
• The Secrets extension, which provides the sidebar and manages the list.

Getting started

Install it alongside the Secrets extension, then use Add Secret in the Secrets panel.
