Is IVYX Studio free?
IVYX Studio is free for personal use, for students and teachers, and for companies under 250 employees and under 10 million US dollars in annual revenue. There is no trial period. On first launch you create a free account with an email and a password, sign in once, and the app is licensed; there is no key to copy and the licence does not expire. Companies above either threshold need a Business or Team licence, and Enterprise covers self-hosted and air-gapped installs.
Why does a free product ask for an account?
The account is where your licence lives, so signing in on a second machine licenses it too and a paid tier switches on without a new install. Nothing is sent by email, and nothing about your work leaves the machine: after the one sign-in the app checks its licence locally and never calls home. The account holds an email, a password hash and your tier.
Does IVYX Studio work offline?
IVYX Studio works offline after one sign-in with a connection. The licence is verified on the machine, files, datasets and local models stay local, and the app makes no network call on launch. Machines that can never reach the network are covered by the Enterprise tier, which delivers the licence as a file.
Is the gateway free?
The gateway is free without limit in every tier. Serving capabilities to Claude Code or any MCP client, checking a policy file, and verifying an evidence package never require a licence, because a record a third party cannot verify for free is not a record.
How do you check company size?
Company size is a licence term, not a technical check. IVYX does not measure your organisation, and the app does not phone home to do so. If your company is above the thresholds, you buy the licence; that is how the Docker Desktop model works, and it is the model we follow.
What is metered?
Nothing is metered. Capabilities, extensions, runs, gate decisions and evidence verification are unlimited in every tier. A gate that costs money at the moment of decision is a gate people route around.
Can I publish my own extensions?
Third-party publishing opens with the registry. Everything published today is built by the IVYX team, and the publishing guide is open now so you can prepare a listing ahead of the opening.
Do you offer self-hosting?
Self-hosted and air-gapped installs of the registry are part of the Enterprise tier, with compliance controls and an SLA. Get in touch and we will set it up with you.
