Read what a course teaches, module by module, before you commit to it

Course Explorer

Read a course before you take it. This side panel shows what a course is for, what you will be able to do when you finish it, and every lesson on the way there — for a course in the market and for one already in your workspace.

What you can do

  • See the course goal and the outcomes it claims, stated as things you will do.
  • Check whether you are ready for it: who it is written for, and what it assumes.
  • Read the full lesson path, module by module, with each lesson's own goal and length.
  • See what it needs to run: extensions, kernels, and packages.
  • Compare published versions before downloading one.

Getting started

  • From the Course Market, pick Preview on any course card.
  • For a course you already have, run Course: Preview an Installed Course and point it at the course folder.
  • Press ESC to close the panel.
  • Works in both the browser and the desktop app.

What it does not do

It never writes a file and never reaches the network on its own. Downloading a course belongs to the Course Market, which is where you asked for it. That separation is what lets the same panel describe a course you have not taken yet and one you are halfway through.
