Junior Lab

The Try it experiments in IVYX Learn Junior: a child teaches a picture sorter from a handful of examples and watches what the examples do to it.

What you can do

• Add a photo to a group and see how sure the sorter gets.
• Test a new photo and read the answer it gives.
• Find the photo that is in the wrong group and move it.
• Try a green apple on a sorter that only ever saw red ones.
• Start an experiment over without losing the mission.

Requirements

IVYX Learn Junior owns the missions and the progress; Junior Classifier is the sorter underneath. This extension draws the experiments and is not useful on its own.

Getting started

It has no panel of its own. Open File › New Junior Window, reach a mission with an experiment, and the Try it tab is this extension.

The three experiments

Fruit sorter — add photos of each fruit and watch how sure it gets. Find the mistake — one photo is in the wrong group; find it and move it. The green apple — every apple it saw was red, so see what it says now.

Two of the three teach through the data rather than the interaction, which is why the photo sets are curated and each one declares what is wrong with it.
